Web 2.0 has shifted the users’ experience to interactive and collective applications, namely blogs and wikis, which allow users to generate and publish content. These applications offer collaborative or social functions designed to foster greater participation.

Highlight HEALTH 2.0 is a member of the Highlight HEALTH Network and is written by Walter Jessen, a PhD-trained biochemist/molecular biologist who is actively involved in cancer research. He is presently working as a genomicist and cancer biologist, and is focused on identifying therapeutic targets in peripheral nerve tumors.
